ABOUT USResearch in the Pozzi Lab centers on primate biodiversity and conservation. Our work focuses on exploring the origin of biological diversity, investigating the evolution of reproductive barriers that reduce or prevent gene flow among populations, and understanding how primates respond to human-induced environmental and climatic change. We are located in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Lab news
- May 2026. PhD student MD. Sabit Hasan was awarded an IPS (International Primatological Society) grant for his work on slow lorises in Bangladesh.
- April 2026. New paper led by PhD candidate Evan Miller published in the Biological Journal of the Linnean Society.
- This paper examined how African bushbabies (galagos) have evolved by comparing the environmental conditions each species occupies. The findings suggest that some species evolved due to geographic separation, while others adapted to different ecological conditions, highlighting multiple pathways driving their diversification
